2905 Murano Way, Glen Allen, VA 23059

When we were in the market for a home in the Richmond area, we were pleasantly surprised by many things, including the choice of areas and houses we found that would be worth consideration. We mainly were interested in the "West End" area of Glen Allen since that's where the job was located. The more we looked for homes, the more impressed we were by the entire area. Great shopping, everything seemed so new and clean, just about any type of restaurant you could think of...plus the weather was ideal in our minds. All four seasons without too much winter!

In our search for the ideal home, we kept coming back to "the Villas at Hunton Park". We were attracted to how we thought the condo complex was unique to similiar complexes within the area. The condo itself offered a more sophisticated, town-house feel that you would more likely find downtown rather in the surburbs. Our particular unit offered an ideal location as it was within short walking distance to the rec room and pool, yet more of an open view out the back. One thing we noticed as we searched for a home, was that the other communities we looked at, there was only ONE pool to serve a very large number of homes! Driving by the pool area at "Twin Hickory", "Cross Ridge" or "Wyndham" in the summertime will illustrate why we considered the pool situation at "the Villas" to be an asset!

In addition, what I appreciated about "The Villas" was that it was located about half way between both Short Pump Mall and Virigina Commons. Convenient, yet you do not have to put up with Holiday or weekend traffic jams! Staples Mills Road being easily accessible was great for short trips to Ukrops & Target. We even liked having the train station maybe 10 miles away (?) since our kids in New Jersey could come down on it to visit. On the subject of kids, the schools have a great reputation and there is a brand new high school being built about a mile or two away.

With how much we loved our new home, hoping we'd be able to stay there many years, we dressed it up with many upgrades. The cabinets were the best Ryan Homes offered, the granite countertops, the upgraded carpets and wood flooring, and tile in the master bath. Husband opted to have the house wired for whole house stereo and HDMI TV. We also put in a speaker system including a door unlock feature for the front door. Planation shutters seemed to be a great investment too.

The community itself, with just starting up, is very socially active. Groups are starting up for crafts, bunko, ladies night out and guys night out (at the rec room). Once we moved in to our home, we found the neighbors nicer than you could hope for. That is something that is priceless and I think that is what I will miss most about leaving Richmond.
