A native Virginian, Betty was born in Charlottesville, Virginia. She graduated from Mary Washington College (now named the University of Mary Washington) in Fredericksburg, Va. with a BA degree in Studio Art.

Betty and her husband Scott married in 1983 and have three fantastic daughters and a great son-in -law. Active in the community she is a current member of:
